Objectives

MEDSOILS CHALLENGE is a European cooperation project in the field of higher education that aims to create a new interuniversity master’s program dedicated to the study of soil.

Innovative, interdisciplinary, closely aligned with EU strategies to combat climate change, and particularly attuned to the environmental characteristics and challenges of the Mediterranean region, the master’s program brings together four universities:

  • University of Tuscia;
  • University of Extremadura;
  • University of Lubiana;
  • University of Adiyaman.

The project also involves two technical partners, including Timesis Srl and Evenor Tech.

The project includes three main activities:

  1. An in-depth analysis of training needs and a mapping of the skills of future soil experts.
  2. The academic and administrative structure of the master’s program.
  3. The pilot program for the master’s degree will run for one academic year (2026/2027) and will involve 16 students from the four partner countries.
