i-DEMO – Improving DEstination Management Offer through game-based strategies.

i-DEMO is an innovative ERASMUS+ Project that aims to support EU tourism professionals in acquiring and developing key competencies in game-based tourism in order to innovate and improve the performance of the tourism sector overall:

  • Increasing specific key skills in game-based tourism
  • Designing an I-DEMO course in “Game-Based Tourism”
  • Creating an I-DEMO toolbox for applying gamification to tourism
  • Incentivizing the application and potential replicability of innovative game-based solutions

 

The Project is organized into 5 work units:

Work Unit #1 – Project Management: management of the Project carried out by the Project Steering Committee composed of 1 representative from each Project partner, for a total of 8 members.

Unit of Work #2 – Target Group analysis and skills profile: Implementation of a skills analysis of tourism professionals in areas of interest in relation to game-based tourism.

Unit of Work No. 3 – Development of the “Game-based Tourism” Course: design of an I-DEMO online course on “Game-based Tourism,” to be tested before launch.

Unit of Work #4 – I-DEMO guide for tourism destinations: provide key players in the sector with an I-DEMO guide including line guides and a Virtual Map of Best Practices in the EU regarding gamification of tourism. Organizing a hackathon in order to activate the 8 destinations;

Unit of Work #5 – Engagement and Outreach: setting up a communication strategy for the consortium, including a graphic identity, networking events and social media presence.

Service provided and results obtained:

  • Participation in overall project development;
  • Skills analysis and participation in thematic groups with stakeholders;
  • Contribution to course content creation, platform structuring and el testing;
  • Contribution to the mapping of Best Practices within the EU for inclusion in the Virtual Map and creation of the latter;
  • Help disseminate the Project by creating promotional materials, social media presence and organizing networking events.
