Final Independent evaluation of the project “Agriculture and Livestock support for Syrian People”
Periodo: february – may 2018
The project objective is to support Syrian rural community’s livelihoods through increased and diversified agricultural and livestock production, improved access to services/inputs and functioning value chains.
The objectives of the assignment is:
to support and inform International project donors (AICS – IT and DFID – UK) and CIHEAM Bari for future interventions in context of fragility and protracted crisis, as well as demonstrating the reached programme contribution to increase the resilience of the agriculture sector in Syria.
To assess the prooject according to the 5 standard evaluation criteria of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability. Additionally, gender analysis will be included as criterium.
To identify best practices and lessons learnt by the project.
To provide recommendations to Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – AICS and DFID for further actions in the same fields.

Activities within the service:
– Desk analysis of projects documentation
– Data collection: i) remote data collection in Syria carried out by International team during 3 missions of the international team – IT (Timesis) in Gaziantep (Turkey) and by local Team – LT (ACU), ii) 1-month field data collection carried out by LT ACU in Syria.
1 workshop for final report presentation to stakeholders (scheduled for the 1st week of June)
